Last week, I was involved in the organization of my organization, the International Association of Psychological and Social Approach. Psychosis (ISP) held a film screening I drank too much life.
When I clicked on the link, I imagined that explaining might be an academic argument. What I discovered has reached far beyond what I could imagine. It has proven to be a multidimensional exploration of mental health, connection, meaning and living experiences of both mental illness and humanity.
“I feel it’s all connected and very keen, but it’s also an overwhelming experience of stimulation and extremely dangerous. You are connected to the world, but you are interacting with it in a harmful way.
Corina is an individual with vision, extraordinary beliefs, enthusiastic heights, and living experiences of the canyon depression. Michelle is her mother and Pedro is her father. Throughout the film, Corina traverses her journey to create meaning for her experiences and healing. In this process, families discuss with individuals who have different perspectives, from experts to spiritualists, depending on their experience. trauma Authority Gabormate.
“She’s starting to develop fear He describes himself as insanely drunk in too many lives.“-Michelle melles.
I’m drunk on life It is a conceptualization of what many call mental health conditions. Through documentaries, we have a biological, psychological, social and spiritual Understanding what this means. Corina discusses her medicine It also feels like she’s making what she walked.
“There’s something like this Openness It’s so beautiful, you can’t divide them into things. I drank too much life
The film shares art, music, poetry and writing. Corina is very artistic and empathy human. These clips give her descriptions something particularly memorable and accurate. At one point, it is talked about a time when Corina can see the two shadows surrounding her father. After some time, two tumors were discovered in the father’s lungs. The family has expressed openness to the idea that Corina’s insights may reach beyond the symptoms of purely biological phenomena.
“Consciousness is about perceptions of others, perceptions of higher sense of self. We live in a culture and world that fears strange and different things. We are beautiful beings that you are. ” – Shawn Pendenke, expert from experience, I drank too much life
Like Corina, Sean is a mental health diagnosis person. He acknowledges the sense of sympathy that made this possible for him to make it happen. He discusses this transposed with the society in which it is obsessed Fits, Materialismand cares about ourselves.
From my eyes as a therapist who also lives in mental health, I recall some of my days of meeting others in my lifetimes. There is a common understanding I have found among others who have had similar experiences that I have never accessed in other spaces. I believe that part of this bridge comes simply from the connections that come from parallel stories, and in part from the level of evidence that these give us. The most compassionate people I have encountered are mostly people with mental health.
“And if you listen, listen, listen until you fully hear the context of a person’s life, what’s going on with them makes perfect sense, and they understand that You can start pulling the thread together to make steps and make steps ok with step. – Dave Umbongo, expert by experience, I drank too much life
Dave is the voice listener. He shares the image of the voice he hears with the doll that embodies the voice. He is someone who has reached the community from others who hear him. Rather than random words, he recognizes that the content of a voice can have meaning. His disclosures are reflected in recent research on speech hearing (Brett and Read, 2025).
Essential reading of mental illness
“Now I am taking medication so that I can stay here. I am not taking psychotic medication to manage mental illness. -SaschaDubrul, a clinician and experienced expert, I drank too much life
Sasha is a clinician and has lived experience of his own life. He shares his outlook at a meeting with Corrina’s parents. What really striking me is how he can reduce some of his self, the multidimensional aspects of psychosis, and medication to help him reduce some of these invasions. It’s either allowing him to adjust what’s important to him.
I am naturally drawn to Sacha’s humility here as a therapist and someone with living experience. You can see how he identifies both painful and meaningful aspects of mental health. As someone who takes medication for my mental health, I am also grateful for his recognition that medication can play a role in recovery.
“My problem with the healthcare system is not that they give me medicine, it’s all they do.” -dr. Gabor Mate, a doctor and trauma expert, is drunk with too many lives.
Here, Dr. Mate struck the reality of mental health treatment. Psychosis and other extreme states of the mind can affect biological, psychological, social and perhaps even mental well-being. However, many people only receive treatment in one of these areas Treatmentmedication, mental guidance, or social support. For myself and many others, what helped me most was the fabric of interventions in each aspect of our health.
We encourage anyone interested in understanding mental illness better to watch this film. It is one of the most vivid discussions about the experiences I have encountered.
