Imagine you had a superpower but didn’t understand it? How much do you miss?
Whether you notice it or not, some things come to you more easily than they do to others. These are your instinctive strengths. They feel easy, so you may not even recognize them as strengths. We often overlook what we are good at naturally. Because I find it too easy to count as a real skill.
Identifying these hidden talents allows you to use them more intentionally. Answering a few questions can help you see your instinctive strengths, so you can use them to your advantage.
1. What do you do, even when you’re asleep or distracted?
2. Even if you’ve never studied or trained, why are you “strangely good”?
3. What mistakes do you make? Never or rarely Does it seem to be making it?
4. What problems do you solve even if they seem trivial?
5. What patterns do you notice before others see them?
6. How do you instinctively explain things to others? Whether it’s storytelling, analogy, step-by-step logic, or emotional connection, what’s your go-to way?
7. Even if no one asks you, do you instinctively correct or improve it?
8. What do you do to efficiently make you imagine you? Cutting Corner (but you aren’t)?
9. What decisions do you make faster than other decisions?
10. People think you put a lot of thoughts in, but do you actually just do it on autopilot?
11. What is the easy way to quickly like and trust people to like you?
12. Do you instinctively know what to say to relieve tension?
13. How can you let people do what you want without realizing that you won’t affect them?
14. What are the social “cheat codes” used to make conversations smoother?
A better self-awareness of your instinctive strengths will help you save your mental energy by becoming more confident about the value of those strengths, leaning on them in challenging times and doing what comes naturally. When we become aware of the strengths of the unconscious, we see more paths for them to improve our lives and performance..
We all tend to have or are not aware of hidden abilities that we take for granted. These could be innate talents or aptitudes that you might accurately underestimate, as we explored here, because they do not require conscious effort. Unconventional approach You are conditioned to see it as a weakness or habit rather than as a strength.
Life is more enjoyable when we can see that our daily activities are an expression of our strengths.
